A bit of trivia about this one...this was how Cook had originally intended it to be published.  It was his editor/publisher who decided to break it down to three books.   That's marketing for ya!

In these volumes will be found reference to "the turnip run". While generaly it is an escorted supply run and can be counted on to be somewhat melodramatic you never can tell when the shyte is gonna hit the fan. One of the Companies greatest victories started out as a turnip run. Gain glory for the Company and answer the call of a storesman in need!

Finished this on the beach.  Its nice to read some stories where the writer isn't in love with his characters.  Although, I do suspect that One-Eye and Goblin are his favorites.  Will see if they survive the next books.
