No love for The Matrix?

Oh, and V for Vendetta, the closing scene with the music blaring through the streets culminating in the giant explosion brought tears to my eyes

Neither the Matrix nor V CHANGED my life or my view on the world OR made me Really examine my view on the world to shore up my Own view if it was not changed.

I enjoyed those movies yes...but my life wasn't made better for having seen them.   V was close...but not quite there.

Not quite sure what you meant by 'Deathrow / Desert Island" ....

I strongly agree with Dune ("My name is a killing word")........have you seen the movie lendgth series based on the second book ?

"Children of Dune" had its Pro's and Con's and can never surpase the original but it build well on alot of Dune's themes.

Also are there no Anime lovers out there ?

What about Akira ?

Ghost in the Shell ?

Vampire Hunter D ?

I am dissapoint !

All great movies, very enjoyable...staples in Anime.    While the title of the thread is "Favorite Movies",  we've high-jacked this thread for Important Life Changing Movies.

Death Row / Desert Island =  What would you watch if it was your last day on Death Row OR you were trapped on a desert island and had the technology to watch a movie but only had a single one available.

Deathrow / Island - I'd watch McGyver (a handfull of epss should eqaute to the standard 2-3 hour movie) and hopefully escape with my trusty paperclip ;)

Wisdom if I ever heard it :)

Reminds me of that old joke about Gilligan's Island: "You can build a bamboo Lie Detector, but you can't build a goddamn raft!"

Ha !

I've never heard that joke before...

Used to love Gil's but I can't help but notice the episodes that have been coloured in.

It irritates me yet I can't help but marvel at it.
