I don't believe Lady is going back down the path of Evil.   I believe the compassion she learned by being a Brother of the Black Company has changed something fundamental in her.    Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to be burdened with an overblown skewing of moralities put into motion on the battlefield...I know that to be rid of an enemy, one must acquiesce to the most fundamental tenants of Company Core Values:   "There are no Justifications for Ever giving the Enemy a Fair Chance".

Simply put:  you don't want to be on the shit end of Lady's pokin stick.   Remember the Taglian Priesthood?  Nuff said.

SFFWRTCHT: You’ve written ten books so far. Are there plans for more?

G.C.: Actually, there are, assuming I survive long enough to complete them. Port Of Shadows will take place in the interval between Black Company and Shadows Linger. A Pitiless Rain will follow on after Soldiers Live. The initial two parts of Port Of Shadows have been published already as short fiction, “Tides Elba” in Swords And Dark Magic Edited by Jonathan Strahan and Lou Anders. There was a Subterranean Press limited hardcover edition and a Harper/Collins trade paperback. “Smelling Danger” was in the Subterranean Press limited edition Tales Of Dark Fantasy 2 edited by William Shafer. I will be turning my full attention to Port Of Shadows as soon as I have cleared off some prior obligations.

In this link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10793800-a-pitiless-rain

A Pitiless Rain is slated to release in 2015. While I cannot say whether that site is credible or not, I surely hope its true!

Is it really time for The Black Company to ride to ruin once again in paperback form? This brother hopes so.

One of the new books is a collection of short stories that takes place in the past, around the time of the Forsberg Campaigns.  Only one of thew ones, Port of Shadows, takes place after "Soldiers Live".
